Received my Kompressor Pads Today!

Well, I broke down and decided to try them.

I received the entire Kompressor pad line today from AG. Just in time for a C6 Vette detail tomorrow.

I'll let you guys know what I think.

I'm curious to your thoughts/findings, as this is LC's next flat pad but with a twist. I understand that the design is to be able to conform to the curves of the surface being worked, but curious if they will also be product hogs, absorbing more product than normal due to the numerous "slots" cut into the surface.

What polishes/compounds you plan on using with them?

You know, I'm really curious about how much product will be used too. I know Ryan and a couple of others have used them, but I don't know if they touched on that topic. I would love to hear their opinion.

Well, it's a Lemans Blue Metallic C6, so I'm presuming the clear will be rock hard. This car belongs to a close friend, who take AMAZING care of this car. I'm going to start with SIP & the white Kompressor pad to see if it'll remove anything. The car is about 90% defect free....We'll see.

Good luck with it Casey.... post a link to your C&B when you get it posted :buffing:

You are correct...Allen's.

He always goes with Souveran as his LSP, but I talked in to letting me pick the LSP this time around. Should be fun.

Haha, I think I know whose car this is. That car is beautiful if it is the one I am thinking of.

Hahaha, yeah I was at his house just last week when Adam was in town. It was funny, he had a big tire for that car just sitting in his living room.

By the way OT, did you see UK fired Gillispie today?

He LOVES that car and it shows. I detailed it last year, and was blown away!

Yeah, I saw....I'm kind of sad. He really got a raw deal, IMO.

Definitely want to hear more about the LC Kompressor pads. Seems like all I hear about is the Meg's SB 2.0's

Yeah, I was completely sold on the Meg's Soft Buff 2.0's until I heard about these. Now I'm not so sure. Those Kompressor pads look pretty sweet. Now if Casey gives them the nod, I'll pry open the wallet.

LC will make a killing off these once they come out with atleast 6in ones. I wouldnt mind some 5.5s or smaller though.

They seem to address all the problems the CCS pads had...(that I found..)

Excessive wobble/vibration when not centered well

Could nick paint on certain angles w/ backing plate

Don't conform to surface

I have a new flex and kompressor pads on the way from Tropi-Care..can't wait to see the difference between my porter cable w/ CCS pads! Steve said it is a big change..

I'd like to see 5-5.5" pads too, ought to be perfect for DA single polishing step jobs.

I agree. It seems as though most don't like to use 7"+ foam pads. Maybe the Kompressor pads are a different story.

I have all 4 grades, and all are not far from the perfect pad, great innovation. Don't be afraid of the 7 inch, easy to control.
