Too bad - was a great thread - a lot of good discussion and then your normal "implied" attacks started and I guess they deleted. It was a really good thread and very helpful if anyone is torn between coatings vs sealants. Still very undecided!!!

Most of the time threads aren't deleted. Just temporally removed from sigh, for people too cool off and the mods to remove the "garbage"

'Seek first to understand, then be understood'. One of Stephen Covey's 7 habits weren't being followed by two or three so an otherwise good thread disappeared.

I learned from this (or that) thread that coatings may be the next thing this side of a clear coat respray and the best thing since sliced bread, but require a very pristine surface and environment to apply. Perhaps not best performed by the average enthusiast in a driveway on a Saturday afternoon.

I think I'll be sticking with my (pretty much bullet proof) Duragloss sealants for some time to come. Although I seek durability, I don't mind applying it a couple of times a year and topping with Aquawax after proper washes.

I just hit the vdub with some DG105 a few days ago and will be doing it again maybe today or tomorrow. You almost have to love the look of DG

I have to add that the hardness and marring resistance is nice, but if you truly enjoy being a weekend warrior, or trying new products then a coating isn't for you, unless you want to polish them off and try a new one every so often.

That thread was simply moved for a cool down period. It's a great thread, unfortunately several egos got involved and it went down in a hurry. It is back up now and this one will be closed so as not to perpetuate the myth.
