Re-introduction (it's been years), mobile guy from MA

Greetings Autopians! I can't believe 2007 was my last post here! Time flies I guess, I got sucked in to full time (plus) employment and eventually ended up starting another business and no longer had time to do more than the occasional detail job for friends / family plus my own vehicle(s)... And now I've come full circle, getting back in to the detailing business (and damn it feels good! :buffing:)



Before, I was doing details for friends, family, and referrals mostly.

Now with much more real world business and sales experience and training, plus 6 years of practice (some times more than others, but still practice!) detailing I feel ready to turn this in to a real business that can grow and eventually expand.



I'm looking forward to participating here (again) and share some knowledge!

Welcome! It seems as though there are a few of us in this category. Much like you, I took a hiatus from detailing as work, family and other commitments took precedence over spending countless hours toiling away on "my baby". But alas, I'm back now, and it does feel good!

Welcome back. Have you kept up with the new technology/products? Some really cool stuff in the last five years. Coatings and the demise of the rotary are a few.

Yeah, I've spent a little time over the years clicking through here and I'm curious to try the new (to me) Meguiars polishing system. I've been using my porter cable and CCS foam pads with Pinnacle XMT or Optimum compound and polish and am happy, but I've heard the microfiber discs and the Meguiars polishes work incredibly well.

I haven't payed much attention to coatings but will certainly do some research!

Right now I've got more than enough equipment and supplies so I'm forcing myself to refrain from buying more goodies until I run low and need to re-up. One of my friends mentioned wanting to get a DA for himself, I'm gonna suggest he get the one Meguiars sells and their system so I can try it out for myself :idea
