re-applying zaino

so, about a month ago i clayed my car and did 2 coats of ZFXed Z5 and 2 coats of ZFXed Z2pro, with Z6 in between. I just got some Z8, which i'm excited to try out, and i was thinking i might do another coat of Z2pro with the Z8 before and after. Should i ZFX it?? Does it make any difference besides drying time?? I wanna make sure i don't harm the process i already did or waste any materials. Basically, whats the best way to simply add another coat, not redo the previous ones?

Thanks,

Jason

I would make a 1/4 of one of the bottles and add a couple of drops of ZFX and your good to go. What most people don't understand is ZFX is part of the process. I have never used Z5 or Z2pro without it.

ZFX is only part of the process for bonding to paint that has not previously had it used on it. As said above it is not necessary on every application. I have been using Zaino for almost 5 years this way. I started when there was only Z-1, ZFX didn't exist yet. Z-1 or ZFX are only needed occasionally. ZFX is great for multiple coats same day.

Since you just applied several layers a month ago. It is not necessary to use ZFX. Would it be wasteful to mix-up 1/4 oz for one layer with 2 drops of ZFX. No.

Not knowing the situation in which your vehicle is used or garaged and the unlikelihood that you will use up the bottle of ZFX within the next 2 years on a single vehicle. I would use the ZFX to insure maximal bonding and matrix formation.

Again, it is not necessary or required to use ZFX for your situation. Whichever call you make will be correct. :hifive:

sweet, i think i'm gonna go without this time, as i'm doing my dads car for some cash and my sisters car as a wedding present. I wanna make sure i don't run out or anything.

Thanks for the input guys!
