Ratios

I've always been confused how much product to water to mix to make a certain ratio that I need. Say I'm using Megs APC and I need to mix it 4:1 to make 1/2 of the 32oz spray bottle. How much product to water would you mix??

If anyone has a system or anything how to mix ratios to determine how much product you need I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks,,,,,AR

easy way is to break down the *ratio* and think of it as parts.....for example 4 *parts* water to 1 *part* cleaner gives you **5 total* parts....lets say you have 32oz....you divide 32oz by 5 to get 6.4oz.....so 6.4oz = 1 part (in this example)....so you would need 6.4 oz cleaner (1 part) and 25.6 oz water (4 parts) ....6.4 oz cleaner + 25.6 oz cleaner = 32oz cleaner....easy way is to add parts...so if you need 3part to 5 parts.......8 parts total.....divide by 8 so you now 1 part and plug in....i try to make this easy but maybe its confusing....funny thing about math is knowing it is half the battle...the other half is applying it proplerly

Convert the ratio into fractions. Add the two numbers of the ratio together then use that number as a denominator for the individual parts. Multiply total amount of solution you want by the fractions.

Example: 4:1 (water to product)

4 + 1 = 5

Water: 4/5

Product: 1/5

Half of 32 oz =16 oz

16 oz x 4/5 = 12.8 oz

16 oz x 1/5 = 3.2 oz
