Rasky's Auto Detailing: 2007 Ford Edge

Rasky's Auto Detailing
2007 Ford Edge, exterior paint correction only.

This vehicle belongs to a good friend of mine and was recently purchased for his wife; I believe he said it had around 12,000 miles on the clock. We had originally planned on only doing a 1-step correction, but upon delivery it was obvious that the DISO was just too deep and it would require a 2-step. There were also several RIDS in various areas, most too deep to be removed, but I offered to give them a light sanding in hopes of making them less noticeable.

Owner had dropped the car off washed (touchless) so I just gave it a quick ONR bath. I then clayed with Meguiars Mild clay and Last Touch as lube.

Before pics.

Took some PTG reading before sanding….hmmm, all panels were in the 200 micron range.

My process for correction was M105 via the Flex DA and an orange LC pad. The clear on this vehicle was rock hard and M105 finished down VERY well...I’d say LSP ready for a 1-step job. Since I had just received some Poli-Seal which I've been wanting to try it out, I chose to follow with that on the PCXP with a white LC pad. (Wet sanded areas were hit with the rotary and M105)

Here is a 50/50 shot after just M105 and an IPA wipe down.

I was definitely in a hurry on this one and the owner showed up just as I finished, so I'm sorry but I forgot to take a few of the after pics.

Tires dressed with Hyper Dressing 3:1

lmao remind me not to buy a car at R.C. Bliss lmao They sure do like to advertise those imporperly finished vehicles!

Great save man. Very nice as always.

I just love that set up you have man. Such a bright garage. Nice turn around on the Edge. Didn't seem like it was too far gone but it's always nice to keep them in tip top shape.

Very nice!!! What did you use to get the dealer sticker off? I have to take one off soon, I'd like to know your process. Thanks

Thanks Jake! I sold my R1 to pay for the cost of finishing off the garage...hopefully I can make it back soon and get another bike! ;)

Thanks!

Heat gun and some 3M adheasive remover for a few spots that left a little glue. Usually with a heat gun you can peel them off without leaving glue residue behind.

Looks good Chad. Surprised to see Ford using a hard clear on that one...

Thanks Todd!

With PTG readings in the 200's, I'm not 100% sure it was even Fords clear. I suspect a repaint but could only verify for sure that the quater and rear door had been painted.

Looks awesome Chad!!

So perfect that it looks like it should be in a Ford commercial!

Great work! :2thumbs:

Thanks Rick! :D

Very nice work. I love the garage. And the AC is a must!!

Thanks David! never really had to use the A/C much last summer...MN weather FTL! :LOLOL

Awesome work as always Rasky. I always enjoy your posts.

You have a massive garage...I wish mine was that big. Mine is around 11x20 and the worst part is that the municipality where I live won't let me expand it.
