Rare Time capsule 1987 Silverado with only 37 MILES!!!!

Repeat customer and collector friend of mine shot me a message and needed me to come up to his place to take care of a few things.


He grabbed a pair of 1987 Chevy trucks. Pretty much twins except one has black interior and the other with red interior. One has only 1k miles and the other one, get this 37 miles! YES 37 MILES!!!!


So he wanted me to gloss up the 37 mile truck as he will be keeping that one and selling the other one most likely.


Prep- Not much prep was needed. Just a quick wipe down with ADG wipeout.


Polishing- The factory red single stage paint had some oxidation on it but otherwise wasn`t too bad. The older vehicles definitely don`t have the quality paint jobs of newer vehicles lol. Just a nice one step with my Rupes 21mm/Flex PXE and yellow igl foam pads using IGL F1 worked wonders without being overly aggressive.

I had a new, metallic blue 1986 version that had the paint flake off early on, and the Dealer had to do a complete paint job on their dime..
Turned out really nice.. My little girls back then liked it when I took a corner fast, and they slid all the way across that bench seat.. :)
Wish I had been able to keep that truck to now..

Hope he has access to R12! Heh heh, that was actually the first thing I thought of when I saw your title.

You and me both! I`d settle for an old one in great shape if I could reliably get that R12 for the A/C.
 
Yeah his paving company has all red trucks. He likes red. The one spotted in the back is a newer ford lightning built from a dealer in Georgia. I did that one last fall.

Doing another treat on Tuesday for him. A red 2013 COPO Camaro.

Now that one I`d like to see him drive the wheels off of ;) Eh, for that matter, I guess I`d like to see him drive any of those things!
