Interesting experience!
FWIW, I recently read an article about an attack on a person by a black bear. Evidently while they are not really predators, they can be extremely dangerous to humans. Don't know how close you got, but it would have been too close for me.

If you don't value your own safety that's your business and since you don''t appear to have enough sense to take care of your self then I don't especially care.

But I do care about the bear and can't help but wonder why you don't exhibit just a little respect for it by leaving it alone. Some people just have to chase animals around to take a picture or see it a little closer....just to get a thrill and then, when the animal gets sick of that crap and maybe attacks, then it gets shot for being a predator.

Go about your own life and let the bear do the same.

What? No need to get angry with him. He is many yards away! If someone took pictures of me from that distance I wouldn't even know it. seems harmless to me.

I agree with the not getting angry part of your post, but the many yards away part, I would have to question.
From TQB's post, "I got about 10 yards from it at one point."
That's like 30' and to me that's pretty darn close.

The good news is -- you don't have to be fast enough to outrun the bear. You just have to be faster than the guy you are with.
