Rain-X

Cold Bubbles

Love it or Leave it? I've heard it breaks down the rubber in wipers and hardens it prematurely. In theory the silicone fills in the gaps in the windscreen, after the alcohol solvents evaporate.

I like it. In rainy climates I don't see how people drive without it. I know there are perhaps better solutions like Aquapel, but RainX is readily available and works very well.

Swear by it.

Espessially this time of Year. Living in Northern New Jersey we see a lot of rain this time of year. Using Rain-X Is great because on a day with a light drizzel you don't even need to turn your wipers on. And in a down pour You don't have to over work your wipers.

I apply every 2 months and Apply it 2 weeks back to back. I have found that I get the best results with this process. I also use it on the wiper blades the same way you would aply it to the glass.

I have had my wipers on my car since new (July of 2000) I drive a 2000 Ford Mustang GT Convertible And have had the same wipers on with no problems. I think I may replace them this weekend just becuase I feel like I should (i almost feel guilty not buying them)

On edit: I would like to know more about the alternitives. Regarless of its availibilty. Being that we have the internet nothing is really more than a few days away.

I haven't used it in a long time. I would get streaking with my wipers. Currently, I have Diamondite Shield on my windshield. Clearkote Vanilla Moose is pretty nice on glas as well.

I absolutely love it! Will be putting some on my car before I head to New York this weekend.:miss Whaler.

I don't like it. On my back windshield it leaves some sort of haze. I use AIO to buff my glass. It works well for me.

If Rain-X is applied and maintained properly, it works very well. I only had problems with wiper chatter and/or streaking when the product began to wear off. I recently switched to polishing my windows with Pro Polish and Vanilla Moose. This has a different effect on the windows. The rain doesn't fly off as quickly by itself, but the wipers function perfectly (completely clean swipes). At this point, I think I prefer using the polishes rather than the Rain-X.

Coming back to NY huh? School visits again? How did it go at Pace?

I like rain x. I have had problems with streaking and I don't know how durable it is, but you have to reapply many car care products, so I just work Rain X into the process.

That's where I'm going to tomorrow. Somehow someone misunderstood my travel schedule. This is my first visit to Pace.:miss Whaler. Rick

The weather forecast is for a few showers Friday night, but partly sunny and 60's on Saturday and Sunday. A beautiful weekend for detailing. Don't forget to bring a travel detailing kit. ;)

Safe journeys.

Thanks Marj. I hope i don't have to drive 11 hours in the rain. It stopped raining here so I'll be getting out my Rainx.

Love rainx on the car in the garage, hate it on the car parked outside.

I applied it to half of the windsheild on the outsideparked car and every morning that side was completely fogged up. The other side was normal. Didnt have this problem with car parked in garage.
