Auto Detail & Restoration
Dan Wheldon passed today from unsurviveable injuries in a horrific crash in Vegas. He was a talented driver and this years Indy winner. He was also the points leader. He was only 33. He is survived by his wife and 2 year old son. He was honered with a 5 lap pace run with the remaining drivers.

I will not post the video but it is out. My wife just saw him earlier this year. Our family and friends are involved in racing so it is difficult to watch.

To a great driver. R.I.P Dan Wheldon. Our thoughts and prayers are with are with your family.

I forgot to mention earlier
He also had a 6 month old son

Families, friends, and everyone involved in racing know the dangers, but are never prepared for something like this. My deepest condolences for his family.

My father in law races sport bikes with Dave and Charlie Fisher(Sarah Fishers uncle and dad) They were on the way back from MI and my father in law had not heard yet.
It makes you reflect when you push the true limits of any vehicle what can happen. It's hard to explain till you do it.

I heard about this on the news and it is really sad. Racing has evolved so much over the years and as they make cars "safer" limits are pushed even further which in my opinion makes it even more unsafe. It is a huge thrill but so dangerous.

I wish his family and friends the best and my condolences

The drivers were mentioning that they were hitting 225mph on this 1 1/2 mile track. The field of cars was also large leaving no room for error.

Dan was also this year putting seat time in the 2012 Indy car this year. He had not raced much since Indy to be with his family. I'm sure after this accident rules may change a little.
