I am going to order a QD (in gallons)

I also want to apply on windsheld, and glasses..possibily on plastics as well..

they both seem to me relatively cheap and effiective..

I also plan to top zaino with it for regular maintanence.

any input will be appreciated.

Do a search on Autopia on Aquawax. There's alot of info on the product. There's a topic about 10-11 pages long on Aquawax I believe. Having said that I would buy the Aquawax. It's the best stuff I've used. I just used it yesterday on everything from paint, plastic to outside glass.

It repels rain like rain-x or aquapel. It also last at least 3-4 months. Yes it will work with Zaino, Duragloss and many other products.

I've used AW and like it allot (instant wet look) but I for the purposes you have outlined I use FK 425. Glass, vinyl, wheels basically everything. Some AW for "bling" (glossier than 425) and then a quick coating of 425 afer a few minutes to bring back the teflon finish of 425 which I have not gotten with any other quick detailer. I would buy a botlle of AW and a gallon of 425. that should last a long time.

Quickshine is next on my quick detailing hit list. I usually order a bottle of one brand and then try something else. So far 425 works well over everything.

Aquawax is not a QD per say..it is a spray sealant...no cleaners....just gloss wetness and slickness and protection...

The Duragloss QD is called Fast Clean and Shine...it does clean...and does lay a coat of protection down also..that is is pretty durable..and is slick also....

It is like a combo of a cleaner and AW...I have made spray bottles of 70% FC&S and 30% AW and had great results as a QD with a little more UMPH to it....use this to wipe down dust...pollen,,,rain residue...bombs...

but for the best look straight AW adds the great shine and slickness and will last a couple months as far as being durable...

seen posts where some have been using AW instead of Z8...and use FC&S as Z6...

Quick shine is a good product...no knocking that...but I prefer the 2 DG products for performance and looks

AW works best on a dried surface and not as a spray on a wet car and wipe off

go to their site and see the products.....and descriptions....vague but you will get the Idea

Clearcoat's Quikshine is a QD product but Duragloss Aquawax is not ???

Having just begun using it as a No rinse wash AND QD spray (6oz ONR/1gal water), I'm sold right now on Optimum No Rinse !!! (I do see promiss in DG AW as a topper for a nice wet look)

any place to order AW, FK425, or FC&S in gallons? which ship to canada?

duragloss.com doesnt seem to offer international shipping..

try exceldetailing for the Duragloss..he will ship to Canada..do not know if he has gallons..contact him..nice guy..will do his best to help you..he does not list gallons..but he may have them http://www.prestostore.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?ref=exceldetail&ct=65178

FK425 is only sold on the Finish Kare site....

Also try calling DG about Canadian shipping..I think some one said they would ship there..not sure..does not hurt to try

when you call exceldetail for the AW, go ahead and get some ONR while you're at it...then you have something for a QD, clay lube, and no rinse wash.

AW definately is not a QD nor does it claim to be. Of course, it does not really claim to be one of the best spray sealants on the market for I believe the least cost...but it is.

Ive used AW quite a bit, well, a couple bottles worth. Im not sure where detailers/enthusiasts are coming up with 4 months of protection though. In my experience, 8 weeks would be more then realistic.

Aquawax is NOT a QD, for clarification. It is a spray LSP, Quikshine is not. I am getting about 2.5 to 3 months durability on AW, which I find very impressive for a spray (particularly for cars outside 24/7 that I am using it on). AW is not intended to clean a surface, like a QD is. AW is made for a perfectly clean LSP-ready surface. It just doesn't have the level of lubrication needed to be a QD, but then again, that's not why it was created anyway.

If you are going to compare QDs, compare Quikshine to Fast, Clean and Shine from Duragloss, their true QD.

I agree- about 2 months durability. Not bad for a 5 minute quick wax-in fact equal or better than many waxes and sealants.

given the price too I wonder how Duragloss have figured out how to make a A+ product at OTC prices and better than OTC quantities. Almost makes it pointless to spend $15-20 on something else.

I'm always wondering about the scientific credibility of any of these smaller OTC companies. You wonder how many of them throw out chemicals (proven or not) and hope it works.

I think it is more that they charge what the market will bear. If they sell all they can make at an inflated price that more than covers the development, ingredients, labor and marketing, why not? Boutique products have a certain snob appeal for some people and they think the more they pay, the better it must be.

In the case of Duragloss the owners are chemists. I don't think they are a huge company but they get some exposure from racing sponsorship(IMSA Steeda #20,CarQuest, Nascar).

Isn't that the truth! Man, I agree 110%!

Granted in some cases, you pay more for things because they truly are worth more (design, technology, etc), but in other cases, you pay more because marketing has people fooled into thinking it's worth more or an "elite" product, when in reality it's no better (or worse in some cases) than the perceived "lesser" products out there. I guess this goes for anything in life really.

DG has been around many many years, and they do not just throw out chemicals and hope they have winners, unlike some of the other "boutique" companies I can think of that have popped up in the last few years, with less than stellar products with oversold promises. It's been a looong time since DG has put out significant new product, and I'll bet the AW and 105 (in particular) were the result of a lot of development and not merely some stoke of luck on their part. DG has put out quality products for years, it's just that they haven't garnered much recognition on internet forums like other companies, and they were never in the forefront with marketing and distribution, making them lesser received and heard-of out there. Didn't mean they weren't any good or lesser quality, but rather jewels in the rough!

Mike

Tiger Mike - you are da MAN! I agree with you 100%. I will be buying DG as soon as my current stash of boutique products run out and that can't happen soon enough. I'm glad I finally started reading posts about DG, sure wish I had done so sooner. Now, I have to say WG sealer has been very good, easy on - easy off, shines and gives good protection, but the rest of WG line that I tried seemed pricy and weak, swirl remover?- don't think so, glaze? I can't tell it, auto bathe? big deal! Their clay and lube - I like, but it's the only clay I've used. I've used Meg's #84 and some XMT #3 - Meg's is definitely better - guess I'll be using Meg's for compounds and polishes -before PBA &105!
