Quickdetaling the car??

I heard that if you Quick Detail your car to much the dirt will rub onto the clearcoat of the car.Is that true?I use Adams Qucik Detalier

Assuming that the car is soiled beyond what a typical QD can handle, which isnt much of anything, this can happen. You can not drive your car or even let is sit around outside for a week and just QD it. If you are looking to avoid this get some QEW or S&W and use it to clean the vehicle first, then QD. If the surface is clean there is no way for dirt to mar your paint.

I think this comes back to "using common sense." If the car has been sitting outside more than a day or so, if it's dirty from the elements, etc. you don't want to use a QD to try and "clean" it. That's not what a QD is for. Typically, a QD is used for refreshing the look, so to speak, after the dirt & grime have been removed by a wash (or waterless wash - S&W).

You don't use a screwdriver handle to drive a nail........ (use the appropriate tool for the job and you'll be okay. :) )

ive used the back of a stapler to nail a SCREW, lol a screw!

I used some PB QD this afternoon and I must say I love the stuff. It is very frustrating though working on a construction site because i clean my car one day and the next day at 6am when i pull in it is dirty again no matter how careful i am

Maybe an old beater for work would be something to work into the budget?

Of course when I did that I ended up painting the old beater and replacing the seats. Then I didn't want to park it at work. :doh

Back to the topic, I've used QD products on the same vehicle as long as 16 years and haven't ruined the paint job yet.
As said previously, a QD is not a replacement for washing. (S&W is.:))
