Quick wash and wax with Mothers SynWax

These are just a couple quick shots I took of my car today in a parking lot because the lighting was right.

No prep at all, just QEW, SynWax with a polishing pad and the PC on speed 4. For my thoughts on SynWax see my review here: http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51125

Here's a closeup. As you can see there are a couple swirls from winter washing and carwashes but its not bad, the SynWax did an okay job of hiding them. Nothing a quick polish come spring wont fix.

Real nice, Steve. :up

It does have the reflective look of a sealant...very shiney!

Nice closeup...does it bring out the metallic as the photo shows?

On your colour car I'd love to see the new Reflections 1+2.

It really does bring out the flake, its very bright like EX-P and other sealants. I like that look on this color I think.

That is exactly what I was thinking! That shot of the metallic is great!

Black Garnet, one of my all-time favorite paints. Awesome!

I almost ordered this color for my car but they wanted me to wait 3 months to get a Garnet with the Nav/Lev option.

Have you tried Souveran on that paint Steve? I bet it would be really terrific...

I had to order it too, and they ordered it with the wrong interior color. Luckily a saleswoman I talked to before had ordered the car for me properly after seeing the allocation tables and realizing there was no way the other dealer had allocated me the proper car. It was there waiting for me when I called her. Smart lady lol.

I like the color but its a pain to keep clean and nice. When it looks like that though it is a thing of beauty.

I haven't tried Souveran but its on the list for this spring!

I have a question about the paint quality. Another forum where I belong that have a bunch of Sienna owners complain about having a hell of a lot of paint chips for their milege.

Lots of complain for weak paint. I have two pin sized chips from the last time I checked and I'm only around 1900 miles.

How has yours held up? Your ES300 is very beautiful

Paint chips are very common on Toyota/Lexus paint. Its not really a question of quality its a question of composition. Mine's not bad, it has some but not many. I'm careful how I drive around trucks to avoid rocks.

I think clear bras are essential on these cars, I wish I had put one on.

I think those are the first two pictures I have ever seen of your car!!

Good gawd that thing is glowing!! :faint: Absolutely beautiful color too.

Now...if only I could get Accumulator to post some pics of his stable. :grinno:

You know, Black Garnet in the '04 & '05 Brochures don't really show that color. It's actually has a purple-ish tint to it which I never knew.

I just drove back to the office and looked at the Camry in the sun and the sever swirls are all there from cleaning snow off the car. I can't wait till it's Spring and I can do my magic.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate it.

I posted a couple but its been a while. I'll post up a nice string of them when I do the full detail this spring :bounce

I dont know why but this color doesn't photograph well. That picture is a good representation but thats why I don't post a lot of pics of it, the color doesn't show through on the pictures. It really is a beautiful color, I'd love it to death on a garage queen lol.
