Quick review of the Meguiars MF finishing pad and wax.

A good friend and longtime client wanted his 2004 Durango with 190k miles prepped for sale. The vehicle has not got much love in the past year, prior to that I had taken care of it since new.



Meguiars hyperwash to wash.

Meguiars Wheel brightener on wheels.

APC to clean tires and wells.



Meguiars D301 finishing wax w/ Meguiars MF 6" finishing pad at speed 3 G110v2.



I primed the pad and worked each panel for 45-60 seconds. The residue left is the easiest product that I have ever removed from a surface. I added a few small dots after each panel prior to moving on to the next. I did not have access to air, so I just spun the pad with the G110v2, placed a MF over my finger to clean the pad with. I did the entire vehicle in less then 20 mins, sans the roof.



IMO this is a great combo for quick wash and waxes.



Durability TBD.

gmblack3a- How does it compare to M205 in the "truly a clean finish" sense? Eh, I'm not being clear here and might not even be making sense...I'm thinking of how the M205 oils simply drive me crazy. Not sure if this is a valid concern since the D301 is also a LSP but it comes to mind anyhow :think: :nixweiss

301 does wipe away easier then anything I have used. Hard to say about the "oil" content as I have never tried to apply any other LSPs over 301.



When using 205 I usually end up doing a wash after prior to LSP application. This is usually due to the dust in the cracks, ect from the prior M105 step.

Over on MOL Michael Stoops implied D300 is oilier with longer work times. Being part of the same 'system' with similar characteristics, maybe D301 will be oiler too. But as you stated, it is a LSP as well with carnauba so its a different animal all together.

I sometimes think I wash after M205 more to remove the TSO than anything else, but I guess I've always been more sensitive on that subject than many M205 users. Heh heh, not that I'd want to risk any M105 residue coming back to haunt me!



Yeah, the LSP aspect of it makes this more complicated. Any updates about how it ages and about topping it will be appreciated, guess we'll learn more over time.

It's just been released so it'll take some time before we get real world feedback on durability.
