Quick detailer/spray wax ok after fresh paint repair?

The body shop says 6 weeks before wax but washing is fine. I had the front bumper redone-I want to keep it as protected as possible-I read a lot of threads regarding how long to wax etc.

My question are quick detailers/spray wax recommended/encouraged/safe? It is a very bug prone spot on my fx35

I would wait on the detailer/wax for the six weeks. My father in law never waxed his car for 18 years and it looked great every time he had it washed. He gave the car to my son and we waxed the car for the first time in 18 years and it looks even better. If 18 years is ok , I think that you car can last 6 weeks.

Noting that I myself just use M05 or 3M IHG for the first three months, if you want to use a fresh-paint-safe wax then I'd go with Optimum. It's approved by Ford for use on post-production paintwork and, even though nuts like me stick with the old-school stuff, it oughta work great.

Typically todays paints urethane that cures through an exothermic reaction. But as with most exothermic reactions you can speed up the cure by heating up the part or car in this case. Try parking the car in the sun and the paint will cure faster.

I'd recommend using Meguiar's M80 for the first 90 days. M80 is a fine polish that leaves some protection but doesn't interfere with the outgassing of the fresh paint.

Thanks for the replys.

I know it can wait for years-but that is not the type of person that signs up and posts on autopia :) mine will not be waiting for years
