Quick cleanup on a 2000 Z28 *56k go away

My friend planned on trading in his Z28 yesterday, so I gave it a quick detail. I only had two hours to work with it, so I couldn't polish the headlights etc like I wanted to.

He put the stock crappy wheels off his '95 Z28 on since he was trading it in (normally has black Vette wheels), and the clearcoat was pretty much gone, so I couldn't really do anything with them.

-Wash, DP Exterior Surface Cleaner on bugs and such

-Removed tons of rubber on quarter panels/bumper, and numbers on windows

-Polish w/SSR2.5 and a polishing pad

-Optimum Spray Wax

-Bold n Bright on tires

-Vacuumed interior + 303 on dash

Oh, and if anyone is wondering why my car is on jackstands in the garage, I finally blew the rear end w/my new 28" Mickey Thompsons on a 12.1@113 pass :D

Time for a Moser 12-bolt...

Like clockwork..... :cooleek:

Beautiful detail work though!!

Nice 2 hour transformation! Great job.

Can you elaborate a little more on the DP Exterior Surface Cleaner? How did you use it? Was it dilluted? What did you agitate with? Thanks!

Looks like he never took care of that car.

Great job on the turn around

I don't think he's ever washed it....at least not since I have known him. He's all about going fast :lol

I diluted it 3:1 water:dp, and used an older sheepskin washmitt, and a synthetic mitt on all the rubber (they went in the trash after I was done). It's very good stuff....I use it on cars, on the boat (works good on fish blood/guts), in the house, etc.

Nice work! :)

Why is he running salad shooters on an LS1 car?

Josh

See first post....he had Vette wheels on it, but was trading it in that day. He didn't want to trade it in with the other wheels on it, so he took the wheels off of his '95 Z28 which is down at the moment.

Next question, though: Why trade in the LS1, when it is vastly superior to the LT1 (IMO, of course)?

But jeez that car was abused looking before you got to it. I dunno that I could've managed to 2-step a camaro in 2 hours total, either... I'd have been far too picky :o

Nice! Looks like he did a couple of burn outs. lol Are those your old wheels on the car? I wanna see some pics of your car now. ;)

No, they're the wheels off his '95 Z28.

Shiny Lil Detlr - It's his "other" car that he shares with his gf. It has a few mods...boltons, cam, etc. but his gf wants a truck, so that's what they decided to get. His LT1 is definitely going to be one of the fastest cars around here, so they don't see a need to have two f-bodies.
