Queston : P21S Cleanser

Now if I understand correctly PS21S Cleanser is a polish/cleaner. Is there any benefit to applying more than one coat of this product? Will the cleaning agents remove the polish on a second pass?

I guess what I want to know is if doing 2 passes will polish the paint more or would it be more of a cleaning of the paint?

Thanks

It depends on the results you get with the first pass. If the surface is really shinny and smooth then a second pass will not do any good. If you're not satisfied with the shine then a second pass might help. There really is no layering of polishes as the solvents used in them washes off the previous layers.

Buffer, this product (which is excellent, BTW) is a cleaner or your preparatory phase. It should leave the paint squeaky clean, literally. I guess you could do a second pass if the first didn't yield good results, but you're not leaving any sort of protection with it. It is a "pre" step to your carnauba wax or whatever you're about to reach for.

This product doesn't seem to get much screen time - - it's too bad, it's a great product for paint in excellent condition.

OK... so P21S is just a cleaner at heart them. I guess then I would have to find a polish to get the best out of my work. If I were to use the following process

Wash

Clay

MPPC

P21S

NXT

S100 (maybe)

Do I sitll need the MPPC I wonder or can the P21S be my first step? The paint on the car is in very good condition. Also should I be looking for a product that tops the P21S before putting on NXT? NXT as far as I know is more or a glaze isn't it?

I'm getting really confused here. Feel like I'm chasing my tail on this..... :o

Read the reviews on it in the review section. It is an excellent product and highly thought of.

Does it act as a glaze of any kind?

I asked the same question about the S100 version. Nobody responded.:angry

From what I 've read so far though, I think it's a combination of glaze and polish.

From what I undestand it is a combination chemical/abrasive cleaner and glaze. So it gently cleans the paint with chemical cleaners, gently polishes with very light abrasives, and contains oils like a glaze.

You won't rub your arm off with this polish!

A companion the new P21S Paste Wax, P21S Gloss-enhancing Paintwork Cleanser is an equally easy-to-apply pure polish. It improves surface gloss by removing old wax, minor spotting and swirl lines before waxing. The thick, rich, cream wipes on and buffs off with an absolute minimum of effort. Now you can spend more time polishing your backswing!

The review was a good place to look. Thanks for the suggestion. :xyxthumbs

Buffer will you need MPPC. It all depends on the condition of the paint. MPPC is a rather strong cleaner (not that abrassive closer to #9) that removes oxidation and minor defects. I say that if your finish is slightly oxidized and have minor defects P21 GEPP is enough. If the oxidation is heavier and you have light swrils then MPPC is your choice. I would suggest that you may want to pick up a swril remover like #80 as neither P21GEPP or MPPC removes swrils that great.
