Questions on a clay cleaning pad, and a "cord winder"

I was looking through a griot's garage catolog, and was curious if anyone uses anything like this extention cord winder Griot's Garage 1-800-345-5789 - In Your Garage, and I was also curious if the griot's "paint cleaning pad" works with a DW443. Also, does the clay pick up to many contaminants to quickly and end up scratching the paint? I guess I could always do it in small sections, and kneed the clay afterwards as usuall, but is it hard to get in an out of that pocket or anything like that. I got a WonderWinder from Eastwood that looks just like the Griot's cord winder for Christmas. I have only used it a couple of times and it seems to work fine, but I'm not sure how well the net that holds the cord will hold up. I like it because it will hold up to 150' of cord, much more than the spring loaded reels I have.

I agree with Nuke33 that using clay by hand sounds much safer and would probably be faster than futzing around with that clay holder on a PC.

Clay holder looks real iffy to me just because it looks way too easy for the clay to seperate or slip from the holder and land on the floor which means throw that piece of clay away and get out a new piece.

Yeah I guess I should just stay away from the pad, and clay cars like i have always done. But I might try the cord winder thing. I realy get sick of wrapping those things around my arm.

I bought a cord winder yesterday at Lowes. Holds 150' of heavy-duty extension cord, is free-standing but with a handle, and has a handle to wind the cord up. Very light. $7.94.

I bought some orange plastic "H" pieces at Home Depot. Cheap and mobile and tends to keep the cord less tangled than running over your shoulder

I did a detail last year for a guy that had one of those, it worked great, and he had had it for a while and said it one of the best things he has ever bought.

Yeah, the more I use the WonderWinder the better I like it. I've got some different versions of the cheaper plastic gizmo's to wind a cord around but this is much easier for what I wanted in the garage. It isn't something that I really needed, but it makes using and storing an extension cord much more convenient.

I still use the "H" style types that az57chevy mentioned for the cords I keep in the shed for yard work.

The clay pad is just so stupid.

Claying is an already easy and quick procedure as it is so why complicate it with something like this?
