Question for you Pros...What do you wear to work??

i used to wear t-shirt and swimming trunks or muscle shirt and trunks, but now that i've grown and developed an excellent reputation my employees and i wear monogrammed t-shirts/polos/ henleys and dress shorts. sometimes i let my employees wear tank tops as long as they're wearing a bball cap with the company logo. they must be wearing something w/the company logo on them at all times during work. the way you're dressed and the way your car is maintained DOES make a difference to potential clients! it's all about the image you present.

I usually wear a polo shirt and dress shirts. One man op so no logo or anything.

If it is really hot out, then I'll just wear my speedo... I don't get as many customers on those days though. I think it is because it is so hot out.:nixweiss

LOL!!! :D

Gym shorts anda T shirt for the warm/hot weather, sweatshirt and sweat pants for the cool weather. I only schedule 1 vehicle a day, and work out of my garage at homr. Before I deliver the client's vehicle, I shower and change into a golf shirt with my detaling venture's name and logo.

I wear gym shorts (with pockets) and t-shirts. I have some with my old logo and name of my business, but they are wearing out. I need to have some new ones made. I always carry extra shirts with me so I can put on a non sweaty one when I am finished. On some of our more humid days, I bring 6-8 shirts with me and change them as the one I am wearing becomes soaked.

In the winter, I wear sweats and layer t -shirts on top as needed when it is colder. I always try to make sure nothing I am wearing has any chance of scratching a car.

Gym shorts, shirt (soon to have a logo to put on it)

Few things to never wear...

- belt

- chain wallet :shocked

- Ring

- Watch

- Bracelet

- anything wilth exposed velcro.

Anyone dedtailing with me knows not to wear those because "nothing is going to happen" butt somthing always will.

I wear 100% cotton t-shirts so if my towel gets dirty I can buff off polish or wax with myself (just rub myself against the car.... lol.) j/k

no actually I wear a pair of dockers, and a polo shirt (I'm looking into getting some made with my new logo embroidered on them)

White T-Shirt and cargo shorts. My most recent addition to my detailing uniform is my Autopia hat. :) I can't wait for more Autopia Gear to come around because then those will be my official detailing shirts. I may even change the name of my business to reflect Autopia. :)

wouldn't you want to not get the wax all over you so the cost come down due to less product waste, and show them you worked your butt off for them by making theri car perfect?

Just a thought....

I try to wear items that keep me warm/cool and do nto scratch but also look semi professional. I usually end up having to wear a belt because my pants always seem to work there way down afetr detailing and getting them wet. So the other day I went out and bought a coupe pairs of doctor scrubs. They keep the water off and protect all the cars from my belt and I can wear more professional clothes underneath without ruining them.
