Question for ALL Flex users

I was once the guy that just HAD to try every compound and polish - bought tons of stuff and usually sold (at a loss) or traded away. Now, I know one size fits all is a myth, so I'm looking for 1. a good all around dependable compound, 2. a polish that will work with the compound or stand alone on one-steps and 3. fine finish polish - for multi-steps or just an oxidation remover/paint cleaner on one-steps.

I'm not loyal to any compamy at this point, I've tried most popular brands with either my PC or rotary ( soon to be sold ) so I'm looking for what works best with a Flex.

Thanks and now let the mayhem begin.

I've just ordered a Flex, I was looking for tips from current Flex owners, now - ask me about that rotary collecting dust in the corner.

Which rotary is it ?

Well, I got my Flex, turned it on and listened to it run. that's about all I could do since I had two details flake out - and it was weather perfect. I don't know, but I have the feeling that anything I used on the rotary will work on the Flex. Now about those customers cancelling at the last moment....

M105 is a no brainer and it works wonders when I use my FLEX (rather than the Makita).

Mid polish, tough to pick 1...SIP is good stuff, but I feel does better with the higher speeds of the rotary most of the time. M86 is a good, cheap option.

Fine polish...not sure for the FLEX, but I love the results on my rotary with M82.

Meguiars Solo 86...i finished down ready in one step with orange on hyundai clear..no joke...cuts hard and fast and a brilliant finish....also Powerfinish by Menzerna is an AIO beefed up a little

I did two details this weekend - both were just wash and wax, oy vey! I'm thinking about doing FFII on my car just for the fun of trying out the Flex, and I got this can of Lusso Oro to try too.

I typically use SIP instead of the Intensive Paste as I get a better finish with it... however, I use 1Z High Gloss instead of 106 ff.

OK, that makes sense and I can sure understand the HG instead of 106FF. The SIP seems like it'd be a whole lot milder product than the Pasta Intensiv...

Not so sure I'd part with the rotary, on softer paints it works better for me since it breaks down the polishes better and I don't get any hazing. Haven't used a Flex though, so I don't know if the higher speed and fixed rotation reduce the DA haze.
