Question and comment on Ultima products

I tried the Ultima 360 Protection kit for the first time a week ago and again yesterday. My question is how do I avoid the surface streaking that has to be buffed out when using the paint protection? Have I used too much product? The tire treatment is OK as is the interior treatment. My comment is that after over 10 years with teh various Zaino products, including the spray polish product, based on only a week or so of use, I prefer them to the very expensive Ultima products.

You mean you are getting streaking when you apply Utlima Paint Guard Plus? If that's the case, it means you are putting too much on. This is the one thing I don't like about UPGP... the application. I apply it under halogen lights so I can see just a very thin film of UPGP left on the paint surface. Most of the time, if you over apply it and get streaks, they will pretty much disappear if you let it dry for a few hours. I let it dry for 12 hours, then I go over the whole car with a QD to get off any excess UPGP and to really finish off the UPGP shine. Three coats of UPGP is the sweet spot.

Other than the application problems I have with it, UPGP is IMO one of the better sealants around.

Couldn't agree with Superbee any more. He hit the nail on the head!

You are using too much. Prime the pad with 2 sprays to start, and then after that you only need a spray per panel. You don't use very much product at all. If you are wondering if the pad is dry, run it across one of the windows and you will see for sure. It goes on very thin.

+3 on that. Good advice!

And, the tire and trim sealant v.1 leaves my tire looking great.... for a very long period of time.... through lots of rain. An amazing product IMO. I'm sold.
