Question After First time Use of PC

Hi after reading the board for a few weeks I got myself a PC with #82 swirl free polish and collinite #845

Today I decided to give it a go and try it

So i washed the car

clay with mothers gold clay

Had to rewash since the clay leave so much residu

the i took the PC out and starting using #82 with a orange cutting pad since I have really really bad swirls..

Now the question is....After doing 2 layers I still have swirls...Should I go get a yellow cutting pad or should I move to a more aggressive product and which one if thats the case. ppl told me #83 is hard to work with for a beginner.

also After #82 and before the collinite wax I was thinking of putting Clearkote's Red Moose Machine Glaze. What do u guys think??

I have a red toyota celica.

Any imput is welcome

Make sure you're working the product in ALL THE WAY. Maybe work it in and then remove some of the residue in the middle to see the progress of #82

Also, did you happen to use a Quick Detailer or some kind of lubricant for your clay bar?

The Moose Glaze will work, but I do not know what kind of look it'd give. Prolly a WET/DEEP look.

#82 is more for very light swirls you will probly want to use #83 for bad swirls and then go over it with #80.

Try #80 first cost once you learn how to work that #83 will be lot easier to learn to use. The thing is #80 is easier to tell when it has broken down but #83 is harder because it looks as if it's broken down the second you start using it.

what do u guys mean by make sure u work it all the way down ?

What I do is a put 4 dots on the pad ...I work a 2"x2" for about 5 mins till i see almost no more product...Is that okay?

I'm looking for the wet deep shiny look so the red moose glaze should be what i need right ?

As for the swirl Should I switch to another company ? or stay with meguiars but use #80 ??

hmm so #80 or #83 ?

From what I know #80 isnt just a polish it has a glaze inside also ?

+ its only a lil notch up from #82 so should i go with #83 which is 2 notch higher?

both #80 and #83 are the recommended polish/cleaners for the D/A. use the less aggressive approach by starting with #80 first, and if that doesn't work for you try #83. there is a learning curve to using #83, as many experience alot of dusting when using it...

I'm thinking to switching to SSR 1 and SSR 2 is that a good idea for my type of paint ?

is there better option ?

many on here have had great success with PB's SSR products. one member i can think of, off the top of my head is 1 Clean WS6 . he uses them with excellent results, just look at some of his details in the click and brag section. also, remember there are several key factors (paint hardness, pads, technique) that ALL play a role in your outcome. if you decide to get the PB's, get the SSR2.5 and SSR1...

Ok ...I have a clear coat on my paint and the paint is soft!! I only have a finish/polishing and orange cutting pad...maybe i'll go get a yellow!!

As for technique i'm going to see a professionnal work this weekend...maybe its gonna help...

I'm getting ready to order PR SSR 1 ,2.5 ,clearkote red moose machine glaze and pinnacle souveran paste wax does the products go well together?

Money isnt the issue...I just want the best look possible..and time and reapply products isnt a problem either I can probably do it every month and half

To answer your question yes RMG would be excellant. Also Pin. Souveran is great. This is the combo I use on my car. And I have tired many. The durability on the PS will not be as good as the 845. But the RMG/PS combo is awesome.

Cool thanks for all the answer guys!! i dont really care bout durability more bout how it looks :P

now only question left is ...anything better than poorboys SSR's line ? for polishing
