Question about using AIO as base for Zaino

I know many of you have had success using AIO as a base under Zaino. I plan to do this next time I 'Z' my car.



One question:

Is it necessary to wash the car between AIO and Z5/Z2? If so, is a regular Z7 wash OK or should Dawn be used?



I searched, but didn't seem to find a definitive answer. Thank you!
 
I've always used AIO as a substitute for a dawn wash, which means I went straight to zaino. There's no obvious different with or without dawn wash.



Sal Zaino would say you should wash with dawn, though.
 
I don't use Zaino, but I'm pretty sure you can go right to Z. After AIO it is "clean" and shouldn't have anything that interferes.
 
Thank you! I will go right to the Zaino after AIO. I asked Sal, and Sal said not to even bother with the AIO. :) That's why I wanted to know from people who've actually done it.
 
AIO has been my preference as the base for any of the synthetics for quite some time now. Great results and no complaints yet!
 
I just did a round on my black S-10 of 1Z-MP, AIO both with PC, then Z1 and Z2. Today i'll do a layer of Z5, then one more Z2 followed by Souveran wax.



It does look much better to me than just the Zaino by itself did and I can't wait to put the Souveran on it.
 
I guess I'll be different and I can't tell if there's AIO under my Zaino or not.I like using it because it makes the Zaino deal easier,but after I polish I see little difference using AIO after to clean up the oils and fillers from the polish.I just can't see anything extra to the Zaino with the AIO under it.:nixweiss
