just curious, when i detail i use the dewalt. now whats the difference between using someonthing like the dewalt and say a PC? never had the chance to use one before.

The DeWalt is a workhorse and a pc just won't do the heavy corrections that a rotary will. I use a Dynabrade at the shop (one of our old DeWalts finally gave up) and the pc is a valuable tool for applying #26 or other liquid last step products. It's fast, spreads product uniformingly, and will fit in some places the big rotary won't.

The pc can do some remarkable swirl removal, but it's pretty slow compared to the DeWalt tools.

That would be a good assumption. Again, the biggest use for my pc is a wax spreading machine. I can apply #26 using a pc to a BMW 745 in about 10 minutes. And, the wax is spread uniformingly across the finish. If you can pick up a used one, it's a great tool to have.
