Question about Leather Stuff

badfish

I detail therefore I am
I just got some leather stuff the other day and tried it out. What I did was follow the directions for leather coniditioning by using the palm of my hand, let set for 10+ minutes and then buff out with a microfiber towel.

After I do this I come back about 10 minutes later and see a nice amount of bluish, white residue all over my seats. I try buffing some more with a microfiber and its still there? Whats up with this?

Were the seats dry when you applied the conditioner? First thought that comes to my mind is light mold/mildew appearing.

did you clean the seats first and then apply conditioner? what is the product that you used and was it fresh"new"?

The seats were vac'd and cleaned with PB's NL. The leather stuff had just arrived by UPS about 2 hours before I used it so I hope it was fresh!

Never had a residue on furniture or interior leather.
Just takes a lot of work 's'all.

I'm wondering if thats just it. I thought I put enough elbow grease into it but maybe I just didnt do "enough"

I am going to be using it again this weekend on my dads car so we shall see what happens there.

sounds strange..never seen it before either..i would also buff with cotton not mf...how much product did you use? there shouldn't be any visible product after application other than a slight sheen that would be buffed out..
