question about carnauba over Zaino

My first thread, hope you guys will go easy on me. :wavey Actually I have more than one question.

I'm a Zaino user and love the durability, but I'd like more depth to the shine. I know many of you use a carnauba wax such as Souveran over synthetic sealants to improve the appearance. This is something I'm interested in trying.

I've got a few questions about this, though.

1. Does the carnauba wax last the same amount of time over a synthetic as it does by itself (a month or two, I assume)?

2. If you put carnauba over Zaino, is it absolutely necessary to Dawn wash before you add more Zaino layers -- even if you wait, like, six months before trying to add more Zaino?

3. Does putting the carnauba over the synthetic really provide that great and obvious a difference? And, if so, which brand do you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance for any help/tips you can provide!

To answer your questions:

1. Yes

2. It's a good idea as you have to remove any residual wax prior to more Zaino coats.

3. I've topped Zaino with a couple different brands and can't say I've noticed a big difference in shine or in products. The oils in wax do create a warm sort of glow because light is being diffused somewhat instead of reflected. But the customer's I've done this for like the effect. It's worth a try just to see for yourself. I recommend S100 wax, avail at Harley Davidson dealers for about $15/jar.

Thanks for the welcome and the helpful information!

I just thought of another question. If you top with carnauba, is it still OK to use the Z6 spray after subsequent car washes? I've never tried Z6 on wax, only Zaino.

a little differnt lighting + scenery...but you can see the wax makes it a little blurrier, and less shiney but deeper and blacker

Thank you for those pictures! Yes, it's a slightly different look.

I love Zaino, but it's so reflective that sometimes, depending on the surroundings, the car almost seems to blend into the scenery or just become one big mirror. :)

i have topped my zaino with p21s for a couple years now and use several detailers sprays, including z6... they all work fine over the p21s.

i also throw more z2 over the top every few months, so i likely have a sandwich with many layers (had close to 20 layers of z2 before my last polish!).

i like the depth and dust repellent features that the carnuba gives to the zaino-
