QEW Color??

Today I received a gallon of QEW that I ordered from camping world. This is my second gallon, the first one I got at alocal RV shop. I immediately noticed that this one is a different color than the first one. The first one was blue, similar to APC+ from a color perspective. This one is more of a greenish blue - it also has something floating in it. Looks like a shaving from a packing peanut. The bottle is still sealed.

Is this normal? I don't know if it is something that could be caused by it sitting in storage or what? What is the shelf life, anyone know?

Just curious.....

What the....? Peanut? As in Planter's? Sounds like a lawsuit. My bottle never warned of it being processed with the same machinery that...

Bad joke.

Strange finding

I'd beintrested in hearing a long time users observations/experience.

Especially Scott's......

At least I'm not alone - fwiw.

That weird "peanut" is just a glob of the wax that they put into the wash. And yes the color has changed just slightly

Oh good I thought I was losing my mind these past few weeks. It's more greenish now. :o

So does the 'glob' of wax indicate a problem with the product? I mean, if there's wax in QEW, shouldn't it be in solution? Or has something caused some of the wax to become insoluble? If that's the case, that would be a defect in my book.

BTW, not only did I see the floating peanut and the teal color (as opposed to the normal blue) but my gallon container was also cracked on the bottom. About 1/3 of the gallon was gone by the time it arrived at my house and the package was soaked on the bottom.

Luckily, the UPS guy that delivered the package noted the soggy bottom and put it in his delivery notes so CampingWorld is sending me a free replacement gallon. Hopefully, you guys won't run into this problem.

Strange... the replacement gallon of QEW campingworld sent me is now back to the original cobalt blue color and the smell is a bit different.

The teal colored stuff makes me nervous now...

Well I decided to call Protectall to get some answers...

regarding the color, it is normal either way. They buy dye for it and sometimes the dye color varies a bit...it is the same formula, just a different dye in that batch.

As for the "glob", he will call me back on it. He was not aware of it so he's going to see if it's normal or not with the plant manager. He asked if you shake it does the glob dispurse, I told him I did not know since I hadn't tried doing that.

By random, I just checked 1 of the 4 gallons I had received recently and it too had a peanut or something floating on top inside. It has not been opened. And yes, the color is a greenish blue.

Damn, it came all the way to Hawaii with a peanut. :D

With Aloha,

Bought a gallon Friday locally, peanut on top, color was about normal.

I can't tell if the peanut goes away with shaking or not since the solution is so murky.

Just got the call back, the peanut is an anti foaming agent they add in the process ("to keep the suds to a minimum"). He said if you shake the bottle it should mix again, but in any case it doesn't sound like a big deal either way. :up

Thanks for the info! :up

I noticed this too, my first 1/2 gallon was teal and my replacement gallon I just got is a deeper darker blue, smells stronger and is cloudier in consistency. Works the same tho :nixweiss
