QEW and wash mitts

zesty-man

how do ya like it?
im just a little bit curious. to all you QEW users out there, i was wondering, what do your wash mitts look like after you've used QEW. usually mine gradually seem to get browner and browner, even though im rinsing them. its almost like its stained, but when i use the conventional car wash method with the same mitt, the mitt becomes clean again. just curious to hear what your mitts look like, and what you do to clean them etc.

I use the two bucket method, and yes my mitt gets dirty depending on how dirty the vehicle is. I just try and rinse after each panel/section as good as possible and I wash my mitts in the washing machine after each use. They always come clean after that.

My sheep skins are a darker brown now, yes, but there is NO dirt or any other loose contaminants in them.

Before I use them next, I will soak them in warm water mixed with some MF shampoo, agitate by hand, and rinse. This should help clean them up.

I use a modified, dedicated sheepsking mitt(cuff cut off, then cut in half). When finished I squirt some car wash shampoo in the mitt, agitate, then rinse with warm water in the sink. They come out like brand new.

I use cotton chenille mitts and 2 buckets (QEW in each bucket). I will switch to a fresh mitt (and maybe fresh QEW solution too) if I think it looks too dirty. I normally use 2-3 mitts per QEW wash session. Afterwards, I machine wash the mitts and they come out perfectly clean.

When I was using QEW, I had good luck with a chenille covered sponge. One bucket with QEW/water mix, one bucket with rinse water, and a spray bottle of QEW/water mix in case I felt I needed more in a specific area.

whew, ok, i guess you guys see the same thing that i see. i was just wondering, is there a difference is you decide to use warm QEW vs cold QEW besides the fact that it warms up your hands?

Lately I have been using warm water because of the cold weather. Not too hot, you don't want to risk the possibility of de-grading your LSP

As stated above my lambs wool wash mitts are stained too. I use the 2 bucket. One bucket with QEW and another with water and a grit guard.
