Qew and Hard Water?

I recently moved to a small town and the water is very hard, as i do not have an outdoor water source i will be using qew. Is it okay to mix qew w/ hard water? I figure as long as you were to dry right after, there would be no problem. Im sure someone has encountered this before and id like some input, thanks.

I think your assumption is right that since you dry each panel immediately, the hardness of the water shouldn't matter.

If it bothers you that much, you can buy a gallon of distilled water at the grocery store for under $1.

The water at mom's house, where I wash, is pretty hard. If I do a normal bucket wash I have to move fast to avoid spotting. No problems with QEW.

I've got hard water and that's one of the biggest reasons I like using QEW.On a smaller car it's not to much of an issue using the the regular wash method as I can dry it fast enough. But on a larger SUV it's impossible to dry it fast enough before the water spots cement on.That's were QEW works the best as others said working a panel or two at a time there's no water spots to worry about.:DUse WAUD with the QEW and it's even better. :D :D :D

I cannot believe QED does not scratch. I have black vehicles and only wash with plenty of water.

You'll have to try it out. QEW is great, and I've used it on plenty of vehicles (including black), and never induced swirls/scratches. It is all about using correctly, and using quality wash and dry towels...for me it is MF to wash and WW to dry with QEW.

With all of us here being addicted to detailing and our beloved vehicles, I can understand someone being skeptical about anything that seems far from the normal when it comes to car care....but as I said, you just have to try it out. I still wash with regular car soap on several occasions, but QEW has been a popular product in my arsenal.

Do any of you consider installing a water softener ?

For those not planning on moving out soon I would recommend it. Not just for car washing (although that's an added benefit) but for general household usage as well.

I'm going to try the QEW in the am. I'm not even going to screw around with the hard water at my house. I had my wife go to Sams Club and buy a ton of bottled water. Going to be funny if the neighbors ask, :SO, you saving all that drinking water for the next power outage?" My reply, "Drinking water, Nope, thats for washing my babies."
