QD's attract dust?

I just detailed the ol' F150 last week. After years of avoiding it I broke down and got a PC.

The next day I noticed I left a few spots of wax (mainly on the rocker panels) and used some mother's QD to remove it.

Fast forward to this weekend. I went on a fishing trip for a bachelor party for my friend (we all caught our limits on crappies, but the northerns weren't cooperating). We had to travel down several gravel roads over the weekend.

Anyways, every little spot I used the QD on attracted dust like there's no tomorrow. The places right next to it didn't. Is it just a Mother's thing (hey, I needed a clay bar...and I needed one now)? Or do they all do it? Are we just wasting time and making more work for ourselves by using QDs between details and washes?
