QD with a MF instead of cotton

When i QD my car, i usually use 100% cotton t-shirts detagged and today i tryed using an MF towel instead of the t-shrit. OK, i sprayed the MF with the QD, sprayed some QD on the panal, but when i went to spread the QD evenly on the panal, it seemed like the MF was picking it up more than spreading it around. It also was harder to spread it out with the MF; seemed like it was sticking to the car!?!? Am i doing something wrong, or do i just need to let the MF soak up a little more QD so that it spreads easier??

thecarguyGP97,

MF towels do have a tendency to 'grab' onto your paint as well as absorb product quickly.

To make MF towels easier to work with, what I usually do is use two MF towels.....one wrung damp and the other completely dry. For each panel, spray a shot or two of QD into the wrung damp MF towel (quarter folded), gently wipe down the panel and immediately buff the panel to a shine with the other dry MF towel (quarter folded as well) before the product dries. I find that using this method allows not only for even distribution of QD, it also uses less product. Be sure to refold the MF towel as it gets soiled. When all 8 sides are soiled, switch to a new one.
