PWC Work in? W/PC

Hey guys, how do people work in PWC. Do y'all apply like an LSP (just spreading) or since it is a 'Polish' by name do any of you work it it until dry etc... Thanks for the help. Also what PC' tips do you have for it?

Andrew

It depends on what you want to use it for. Generally I use it less than the SSRs but more than a LSP. If you want more protection and cover more swirls then just apply it without working it in and remove when its ready. I use a polishing pad FWIW.

I use a rotary and polish pad. I prime the pad, then put lines on the car panel, 2-3 lines per panel. I tend to put polish on the pad or smear it on to bumpers. PwC doesn't dust badly, so I don't mind using enough. With a rotary, it works in quickly, and I put damp cloths on the bottom of the windshield over the rain trap to catch sling and dust.

I work at 1000rpm, smearing the product across the panel. I boost up to between 1400-2200rpm. Usually takes 3-4 solid, slow moving passes to work the product in to a glossy finish, about 45-75 mins per car.

On a PC, I'm guessing it is a lot slower.

My only tip (other than the rags) is to be patient, take your time, and move with the body lines (front to back on all panels except side to side/left to right on trunk and bumpers). Working with natural body lines is a big deal.

PEI, do you work it till dry or does it dissapear? Also do you follow with another LSP? Also how long are your product lines on a 2x2 panel? Thanks for the help, and I assume that it has fillers in it?

Andrew

I have never used Pwc but just recently used Pws which is very similiar. It is a new product that poorboy's is coming out with. I was told by poorboy,s that it will give protection but not a lasting one. With that said I would put a sealant over the Pwc just to get the added protection and the pop that comes with a good cleaning.

It does have fillers. I follow with EX-P or Natty's; with a rotary there is probably only a handful of weeks of protection. I work it dry till it disappears; with a rotary takes about 1min/panel (1/2 hood; 1/2 roof; doors, fenders, etc; bumpers & trunk take longer; big roofs are four panels for me). Product lines are as long as the panel, usually 3 lines on hood, roof per side, 3 lines on the trunk and doors, and 2 lines elsewhere.

Does the PwC remove old wax? I used it for the first time tonight, but I used it after SSR1 and I applied it an orbital buffer so I just spread it on and wiped it off.

PEI, I wouldn't consider PWC to contain fillers, but it can have a filling property if used that way. As in if you apply the PWC to the surface and not rub it in the swirls will be less apparent. When I hear fillers I think of a 'fake polish' and PwC isn't that so I just wanted to clarify that. Lonewolf- If you are using a PC I believe it will remove old wax and probably by hand aswell.
