Pro's What products do you use?

Im looking to get this mobile business up in about 2 weeks, and wanted to get your opinions of good products for me to use. I plan on consumers seeing me:

once per week to wash and touch up

every 2 months on the full detail

What products will "make the cut" for that time period, and are those acceptable intervals as far as your expertise goes. Thanks

I'm not a pro (yet) but you should look for products that can serve many purposes ie: meguiars APC.

(Intel486) Are the PRO products comperable to Meguiars? I was planning on going with the PL of Megs mainly it is a well known brand that people will recognize. Also, the "full" details will only happen 2-3 times per year like you said BlackRegal, and the refresher applications every month or so Im guessing.

Pro has products similar to all of Meguiar's Products and a lot more.

See if you have a local Pro Dist. You can email them at prowax.com. Most Pro dist will come deliver to you.

I developed my own products with a chemist because I was tired of high cost products that had to be applied too often,& couldn't be used in the hot sun. That's where dark colored vehicle should be polished and waxed..so you can see what you're working on and see what everyone else will see when the customer is out with their car. Most products need a cool, shadey area to work, mobile detailers don't always have the option! Show cars are usually touched up & QD'd at shows in the sun. ie parking lots and fields.

I use mostly Meguiars Body Shop Professional line for paint prep-Dual Action Cleaner Polish, Swirl Free Polish and Hand Polish will be enough for 99% of the cars you would work on, but they do have Diamond Cut Compound 2.0 and Compound Power Cleaner should you need something stronger. They also have several buffing pads (wool and foam), the Uni-grit wet sanding system and a whole line of 'Detailer Products', mostly for 'assembly line' style detailing (like in shops or for doing used cars for lots).

My Meguiar's distributer is very knowledgable and make sure I know when the Meguiar's truck will be in (they have a semi truck and trailer and the trailer is set up like a classroom), so I can find out the latest information.

For waxes, I primarly am using S100 paste wax and American Shine Carnuba or Clearkote's Moosewax if I have to work in the sun.
