Salutions all,

I am new to this forum thing I am happy that their is a cite for the detailing pros. A breif history of myself. I detailed cars for about 3 years one with ziebart tidy car 2 with a dealership detailing trade ins and problem customers. Anyway I have read a lot of treads most of the chemicals mention are confusing to me. I like the basics. I detail every car like it was own. I am planning on going mobile. Their is no real comp in my area except in and out's and drive ups. I want to seperate my business from theirs by offering the best job hands down. I was hoping that i could find some info on carpet dyeing. I can buff, clean, and renew better then most. Yet the job seems incomplete with dingy carpets. Like in neglected mini vans, fleet vechs, and suv's. I have a carpet extractor it does a great job, but for the been to hell and back cars it just makes alot stress and mud.

With some cars that have been abused for a long time, I have had to clean & extract the carpets more than once. Just like you can't make the paint perfect with one pass of a polish, you can't get carpets their best by cleaning & extracting once.

I have goten my best results by extracting three times. I spray a light mist of water on the carpets, then add the cleaner and scub. After extracting this mess, I'll spray on a bit more clear water (and more cleaner if needed), scrub and extract again. Finally, I have a 3 gallon garden sprayer filled with water and a small amount of laundry fabric softener. I thoroughly wet down the carpet with this mixture, then extract. On this final extraction, I will spend a lot of time making sure that I've pulled up as much water as possible so the carpet's as dry as I can make it. If I happen across an area where dirt is still being pulled up, I will hit it with the rinse mix again.

Yes this is time consuming, but it's the best method I've found.
