Pros: Cleaning your MF's towels

From the pros out there - whats the best way to maintain your MF towels. Whats the process to clean them, store them, rotations from different uses. what products are best to clean/maintain the quality/durability of the towels.



I have bought some from Pakshak, so I want to get as much as I can from them.

Paks towels arent going to fade away. The best way to paintain them would be to not get them dirty in the first place! But we know thats not possible. Try to deligate a few for your more dirtier tasks if need be. Wash with typical laundry detergent, less is better to avoid any soap buildup.

M on the other hand dont really baby any of the towels I use. I use them for the intended purpose, wash with hot water, and toss in the dryer! I remove them while still damp to avoid static build up with is a menace. If they have stains on them, so be it, not a problem. They'll last beyond the value you purchased them for......
 
patrick pretty much nailed it ^ i wash all my mf's in warm water with liquid tide (add vinegar to last rinse cycle), and then off they go into the dryer on the lowest setting....
 
I use different color towels for different jobs; yellow for polish/wax removal, green for interiors, blue for windows and wal-mart towels for jambs/grundge work. I wash them like any other towel as well, just seperate from cotton and they get an extra rinse cycle.
 
I recently used a Wal-Mart towel w/ Stoner Tarminator for the really nasty stuff on the edge of my wheel well, there was no way that towel was coming clean in the washer, it's now black and still smells like Tarminors despite being washed twice and rinsed 6 times. That Tarminator may work good, but it smells god awful.
 
Save your MF towels for "cleaner" jobs. Something like a bug mitt, safe scrub, or insect removal pad from Autoint will be more aggressive/efficient w/o marring.
