Pro's, anyone using or doing business with Simoniz?

Are any pro auto detailers using or doing business with Simoniz? They built a great looking detailing center near me that is going to be offering training. Their marketing material also looks great. Are their chemicals any good?
 
They had a booth at SEMA and I never stoped to take a look. One of my friends customers just had a Simonize coating applied to there new car at a cost of $700.00. Sounds steep to me.
 
They have been around for a very long time, I'm not sure how the product perform against today's brands but I suspect that they have a niche somewhere in the market to keep going for so long. They are well known for the paste wax.
 
Not the first time that the guy who owns the company has went down this path.

He has tried it several ways in the past.

Those didn't work, so he went to the TV Infomercial route for a few years, that didn't work out so well, but he made a lot of money in the short term. (claims came in, the off shore "insurance coverage money" got short, so bail time)

Looks like he's bored again, get people to dig into their pockets and when the doo-doo hits the fan, he moves on to another ploy.

When I hear the name Simoniz, I think car washes and volume. I see their trucks around that say "follow me to a good car wash" or something like that. I tried a couple of their products years ago before I learned proper detailing and even back then I was not happy with the products I tried. And seeing their commercial for this product REALLY turned me off:






We all know products like this are a BS scam and I would not do business with a company that scams people like that.

+1. This is an old name plate known to our grandparents.
 
Around my area, it's very well known. It's become a generic term for some people when they are talking about machine buffing a car. I've actually had people ask me "Do you simonize cars?". Then the education begins...
