Proper use of QD spray?

I know it's the noobiest of noob questions :nervous: but it still sort of confuses me. Having a black car, it shows dust practically right after you pull it in the garage after washing it. Do I just spray on and wipe off the whole car between washings? Will it mar my finish at all? I will probably also get an OXO duster, my Cal duster is way old and grungy. Thanks.

Yep.... Just dust of first with the Cal Duster and then QD. I do that every day. However make sure you are dusting off dust and not dirt. If you have dirt anywhere, then you are inducing more swirls by dusting off and QD'ing.

Thanks. How about on the fenders behind the tires where it can get grungy pretty fast, any safe, quick way of keeping that clean? usually it's water and dirt that gets kicked up.

I hit behind my wheels with Poorboy's Spray & Wipe. Good stuff. I just spray it on pretty liberally and wipe it off with a MF towel. Then if I am feeling like it, I will hit it with some QD.

Sounds good, thanks. I am looking into stepping up to a few non-OTC products here and there, I was looking into Poor Boys stuff.

You may want to check out Chemical Guys. I just bought a gallon of their Speedshine QD which claims to be a waterless wash type product but i usually only use it after a wash since I am to paranoid to use it on a car after it has been driven. Still trying to figure out how to keep my car looking great after the layer of dust develops a day after washing. Another plus is that it is cheap.

Funny you say that, I was just searching ONR and looking at the how to's! :up

Stuff looks awesome for quick washing and touch ups. I think all the positive posts have convinced me.
