I purchased some propel pads for the PC a few years ago, i have yellow and green, now that i haven't used them i forgot what they do. Is the yellow a heavy cut? Is the green a medium cut? I can't seem to find out any information on these pads, is Propel out of business? Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks

You might be able to determine their cutting level by how soft or thick and hard the pads are...at least you can tell on other brands that way...usually the harder, the more cutting it will do (ie- LC Orange- lt. cut pad- is harder than LC Blue-finess pad)

Yep, that's where I bought my Propel pads. The green Propel pad I have was intended for polishing, just a bit more bite (though not much) than the blue Propel pad. IIRC, the green pad was supposed to have just more bite than the Meg's Softbuff polishing pad. Patrick can correct any memory errors.

per the info that was with my Propel pads

"Yellow Propel: Medium cut polishing pad, firm with largeopen cell structure for cutting ability. Great for SSR 3, 2.5, Megs #83and many other heavier abrasives. Will more then likley require additional work to clean up marring. Use a lesser abrasive polish with a Green Propel."

IMO it is good for for removing oxidation other thatn that I don't care for it

"Green Propel: light polishing foam pad, but stiffer, allowing for better use of heavier abrasives. can be used for swirl mark removers.(PBW 2, 2.5, Four Star SMR, Vanilla Moose, Moosewax, Red Machine Glaze, Megs #80, #9 ect.)"

IMO a great all around polishing pad you will like it alot

Thanks, I don't recall having such information included when I bought my pads, and I keep a file just for such information. IIRC, there used to be a pad chart for pads from various vendors which included the Propel pads, but I can't seem to locate that post.

Not to intrude on Sellncars thread, but do you have similar info on the blue pad? I'll just add a copy of this post for my files.

"Blue Propel: A very light foam, light polishing pad, used for all in one type cleaner/ waxes and heavier weighted sealants and waxes. Can be used as a finishing pad with no marring.(SSR 1, Moosewax, Vanilla Moose, Red Machine Glaze, Carnauba Creme Wax, Four Star Ult. Paint protectant and Ultimate Paint Cleaner, Klasse AIO ect..)"

IMO Very little to no cut and good finishing pads for most paints
