Prometheus Products?

I had purchased some prometheus microfiber towels about 3-4 years ago from my local sherwin williams, and unfortunately they are no longer able to get them, but I have to say they are one of the best towels I have used. They are soft and edgeless and I wanted to get more of them, but cant find anything prometheus anywhere! Anyone have an idea where I might be able to find these?

Nope. There was a Sherman Williams in Tampa, FL that was a Prometheus distributor. You may want to Google them.

I've tried their body shop polishes a few years ago and they sucked. (2 step system (wool>>>foam) Ferrari actually sent out a TSB to all their factory acthorized body shops recommending that they all start using the Prometheus line to be in sync with the factory (hackness). I actually still believe I have a copy of it.

Ya I heard it was nothing special product wise, but ultimately the towels they sold under the prometheus name were absolutley fantastic. I might head back and try to convince them to try contacting the tampa store to see if they can at least get the towels. They tried convincing me to get the 3m microfibers they had in store, and they were not as nice a towel as my prometheus ones.

Oh well, i will have to settle finding other towels.

Ferrari seriously recommended a crapy product line??

Remember seeing all those Ferrari's that Apollo/Jesse ended up fixing that came right out of the factory? That explains how great the products worked!!!

Have Brian give you a stack of his Zaino towels!! They're borderless too. Very Nice.

David, not sure about today, but as of 5 years ago there were only 5 manufacturing facilities in the world producing the "micro-fiber" cloth.

2 in Korea and 3 in China.

Ever read the little tag on a cloth?

They produce what the "customer" wishes to "re-market", under what ever brand name the customer wishes.

Back in the late 70's and early 80's a wonderful fabric was presented for shirts, etc, it was called "Ultra-Suede" and was a micro fiber cloth.

One may go to Wal-Mart, AutoZone, etc, or on-line and find many micro fiber offerings.

Ever notice that there are only two blends, 80/20 or 70/30 and then perhaps a "waffle weave" offering?

Like anything, these mills will produce whatever "quality" of a product their buyer wishes to purchase, and sew the tag of their brand on them.

However, have you ever seen one that said other than "made in Korea" or "China"?

I know that some sort of cheat on this and I realize that I am a bit out of the loop on these sort of things.

Rob out of Santa Barbara, Ca has a great selection of quality towels, which he has been dedicated for years to insuring that they are real quality.

When I want the best I go to him, when I want a plain old micro-fiber, "who's cheap".

Just a bit of input.

Agreed! Rob has great towels at excellent prices.

Looks like Sal is "playing the game" as there is no mill in the USA producing the cloth.

If you are aware of one or anyone is aware of one, please let me know.

Now, one can import rolls of the cloth, have it cut, sewn, etc here, and claim what is claimed and at the present time is boarderline, as to being correct.

See the "imported raw materials" statement, see the * for Made in USA*, IE, we got some ladies cutting and sewing on the labels, etc.

Developed--Humm guess he came up with micro-fiber.(So where is the lab, who runs the plant, etc)

Processed---Humm, took it out of the shipping container unrolled it for the ladies to sew.

Inspected---Humm, my brother looked at it and it did come from ??

Packaged---Humm, we got two semi-retired ladies putting them in a sack?

I think this is termed "modern marketing in a global world".

So terrible that Ferrari made him remove/delete them or else....:nono:

Yep, had to remove them all and there's about 40+ more that I've done since then... :(. I'm actually detailing the first Ferrari FF right now :D Can't post anything about it though, but there is a "distance shot" on my Facebook page (Wolf's Chemicals on FB).
