Professional Detailing Artillery and Their Uses

I decided to start a thread of my detailing supplies to not only give a basis for others, but to show how I effectively manage the price of my supplies to make a profit.



Please Note: I will be updating the thread in about a week when I get more pictures and will also be supplying the items I use as well as dilutions. I will be posting write-ups in the Before & After section, but though I would introduce my products, uses, and dilutions for others who are looking to start detailing and make a profit.

-Microfiber Applicators-

I will be adding more products on Monday or Tuesday. Also I will be adding my rotary set-up, pads, polishes, sealants at some point.



Please Note: This is just a very brief amount of the products I use and I will be updating the rest shortly.
 
What spray nozzel/trigger do you use with the wheel brightener? I buy chemical resistant triggers for use with Carbrite wheel acid and it destroys them after a couple uses...I even remove the trigger from the bottle after each use and spray out all of the chemical remaining in the tube, and then pump clean water through it before storing it away.
 
Personally I don't use Wheel Brightener because I find it too toxic (no matter how safe Meguiars says their wheel brightener is, it's still a wheel brightener). It looks to me like he uses whatever trigger was sent with his detailing start-up kit.

Do you have any links or experience that says it's too toxic? IS there signs o warn against overuse?



I just used it 4:1 diluted for the first time and I thought it worked fantastic!

It's an acid based wheel cleaner. You ought to make sure to wear eye protection and a respirator (if used full strength). Most people just prefer less caustic cleaners is all.

Bingo.

I just use my diluted Super Degreaser for wheels. It's still a strong alkaline cleaner, but not nearly as bad as any wheel brightener. I should show you my old glasses that got acid-etched from using wheel brighteners (naughty, no eye protection).
 
Hey I guys I only use wheel brightner on a very slim number of wheels. I use chemical guys diablo wheel gel at 3:1 which is fully ph balanced and safe for all wheels. I use all meguiars spray bottles and triggers and have not had any sprayers fail yet.
 
Anyone who has used wheel brightener knows that it is obviously bad for you if you don't take the proper precautions (eye protection, gloves, respirator), but sometimes it is the only option for baked on dust and grime. I use it as a last resort (diluted about 5:1) and take the necessary steps to make sure I don't breath it in or get it on me. Even at 5:1 it can still damage wheels, especially wheels that have the plastic center cap covering the lug nuts.

You are exactly right, it is for the worst cases of baked on brake dust and is a great product to have in your arsenal if you know how to utilize it properly. I use it on inner wheel barrels on quite a few vehicles with baked on dust, I then follow with clay, and sealant.
