Anyone use this yet? I've tried some on my wife's MDX, and it seems to look good, was easy to apply/remove, and so far has lasted three car washes (four weeks) with no signs of losing "beadocity".
Good question. I just spoke to a rep at ProWax this morning asking about the same product. How would you rate it against other waxes or sealants you've used as far as gloss, depth of gloss, reflectiveness, etc.
From the description of Profection, on their web site, it sounds a lot like the stuff the new car dealers like to charge $200 to $400 for. $21 a quart is a great deal, especially if the durabilty, gloss, and reflectiveness are comparable to some of the other products we've tried.
One thing about the Profection (from the description and verified when talking to the ProWax rep) is that it can't be layered since it does contain abrasives. He said no need to strip whatever wax or sealant you already have on since the Profection will strip it for you. He also said for a non-garaged, daily driver I could expect to get at least 3 months of protection out of it. It does sound very tempting. I may buy some to use for the wife's car.
Have you looked at their POLYMER IIâ„¢ SEALANT? Looks somewhat similar.
The Profection saies it has less cleaners and a better resin though... and you only get 3 months out of it? I may have to get some to test out. I think I've seen it at my Pro Distributor before.
I'd say that the look is comparable to other polymer sealants; a little "plasticky", but certainly looks good for something that should last this long. Very easy to apply and remove, and the "feel" is very good compared to stuff like NuFinish.
