Product to get rid of THICK soot at Exhuast Tail Pipe - Tried ScratchX

BUt to no avail ... still got a layer of black soot on the tailpipe which cannot be removed ... IS there anything else that is stronger that can be used? Lolz .. best is Spray on leave it there and wipe off .... :D
 
Give somthing like Never Dull a try. Or some other kind of wadding polish.



Also, try a more abrasive product, like a rubbing compound. Just be carefull if its chrome or polished stainless and be prepared to buff some scratches out.
 
Spray a type of all purpose cleaner on them. I generally use whatever I'm using to clean the wheels and tires at the time. I wet down the tailpipe, spray it down haveily with the cleaner. Clean and dry all 4 rims and tires (remember to keep spraying on the cleaner onto the tailpipe and brushing it with a stiff brush.) Then in the end the tailpipe should look a little-a lot better.



Then follow up with Cody's suggestion of a RC or the like.
 
Exhaust stains can be a royal pain in the tush because of the ugly stains left by the cars emissions. They can also attack the paint all around the exhaust.



For the really bad ones I use a chrome polish, like Rolite, which comes in various strengths. A Dremel tool fitted with a cloth buffing wheel can also be a great help with the real bad ones.



Try Mothers polish or the Never Dull. You may need a metal polish with ammonia in it to break down the soot.

Like Anthony said try the mothers polish. It works charms on tailpipes. Makes them come off fairly easy too.:xyxthumbs
 
I use Nevr-Dull on my stainless exhaust tip . . . removes the soot like a charm. Of course, all that soot is back after a few miles of driving . . .
