Product that actually helps to restore rubber trim?

The rear window trim on my Intrepid is all dull looking and faded. I've tried many products over the years, 303, Back to black, ect ect. Pretty much everything that I've tried, has acted like a tire dressing, just rests on the surface and makes it look more glossy and turns it a little darker, only to dissapear in under a week. Is there actually a product I can use that wil soak down into the rubber and revitalize it? Is it impossible? Thanks in advance. :dance

I used the dupli color trim paint (spray can) on my old car's widshieldwiper plate thing. I first applied a adhesion promoter and then the dupli color. A final clear coat for plastics on top of that.

I think part of the problem is that the trim needs to be really well-cleaned...maybe something like the Wax Blaster or an APC would work? I really like Chemical Guys "gel" and Liquid Extreme Shine for restoring trim so far, but like most they are only temporary solutions (IDK durability yet). I'll post reviews in about a month.

Clearkote VM, RMG and YMW will remove oxidation and restore it to original lustre

Then you will need a product like Autoglym 07B to make it full black

Depending on the type of trim, whatever gel's or dressings you put on, they will either stay gloss black for a few weeks or not at all

I'm still having trouble with top door trim, it must be cruddy material

VM, RMG, 07B, Optimum PP and Sonus Tire Gel once and then tire gel each week after that gets the desired results I want but I may have to look into trimonex

Forever black doesn't do a thing on any of my falcon's trims

Just leaves a smeary black mess

These trims are not porous so no sealer or gel will be absorbed so I don't know how trimonex would work

Thanks for all the great suggestions guys. Bill, the Items you mentioned look very promising, however, The trim around my rear window is a very soft rubber, kind of like what is usually around the inside of the doors, very flexible.

Yeah, if you have ever seen VW Jetta MKII's, they have a lot of trim.

So much effort to get it all black again. Never stays :(.

It's a dye/stain rather than a protectant...This stuff will make it NICE and black...

AHAH ever looked on that back of the bottle of "Back to Black"??? IT says.. "for use with colours other than black"........nice

ACTUALLY, the back of the bottle says "areas to be treated need not be black to obtain superior results". I'm holding it in my hand right now. Back to Black isn't the best stuff around, but it works okay for longer than some OTC things.
