I found this website that makes observations/reviews of a range of carcare products we all use. Very helpful. :D

Follow link, and then click on "Observations" button. :up

http://www.waxwizard.com.au/

BTW, I'm not affiliated in any way with this company....never heard of it 'till I stumbled across it yesterday while Googling....it just seems independant, experienced and informative....just thought I'd share.

Post your thoughts on their observations. :xyxthumbs

I just put a post on the Products Review Forum about this website providing a range of product comparisons/reviews, but I thought I'd post one here about it's 'How to' suggestions.

Found it very helpful....they write like experienced Autopians.(sacrilege!!!)

Just follow link, and click on 'Application of products'. :up

As I said on the other thread, I just found it yesterday while Googling. Don't know the company.

Just wanting to share.

Please, do NOT crosspost. Your threads have been merged here. -- Tort (mod)

Yikes!

Mothers stuff is expensive Down Under huh? Seems like they favor lots of Mothers and Zymol products.

It appears they also have an online store.

Just want to mention that autopia has their own review area. Just click the button "reviews" up in the top right.

Interesting site but one wonders about the focus on Zymol.

I wonder if P21S will be recommended once they get a P21S inventory...

Yep! All car care products are expensive in Oz compared to the US. :usa You guys don't know how good you've got it - I'm jealous:wall

Actually, this is the only outlet I've come across that sells Zymol, P21S, 3M, etc in Oz. The products that are considered 'top shelf' that are widely available here are the Mothers-Meguiars-Autoglym trio, all equivalently priced (read, EXPENSIVE). And even then we don't get NXT, Medallion, #16, and others in Megs range.

I'll be buying some P21S now there's a an Australian outlet....I can now be a user instead of just reading about it on Autopia and wondering!!:bow

Actually they do sell P21S - its in their 'Catalogue' list.

Under 'Application of products' they say:

High quality paste carnauba waxes (with a high carnauba content) can be applied and removed easily by hand, eg Swissol waxes and P21S.

I don't know why they haven't mentioned it in their review section but I know I'll be buying some asap now that I've found an Australian outlet! Very excited!!!:bounce

lawrencea, they do seem to like Reflections. The Autopia reviews rated it very highly, as high or better than many Megs products (thanks Intel486). Since it reviews so well, how come it isn't used or mentioned so much in Autopia? There does seen to be abit of a bias towards Meguiars (an observation, not a criticism...I use several Megs products and am very happy with them, no complaints). Just wondering why?

Has anyone tried Mothers Reflections? Feedback?

We've only just got Reflections in store and seen it only in one.

I might get some to try....after getting P21S that is!:bow

If you want P21S, go to concoursecarcare.com.au. Wax wizard is rubbish IMO. Mothers is retail grade too.

As for 3M, it's available all over the place in Melbourne. We have at least three wholesalers of 3M in adelaide

Pricing in OZ is expensive at some stores but some brands including Pacer are top class and darn cheap too. Menzerna 1 Litre is only $30 in adelaide

I have ordered alot of products from Waxwizard (and had my car detailed by them) and will continue to order from them. My experiences have always been positive - the products arrive fast and there is always a helpful hint or steer in the right direction which is useful when you are just a newbie at detailing.

I find that they dont just want to sell you a product and we have had some great discussions about detailing products, application tips and how to fix defects (my honda s2k loves picking up stone chips).

Most of the more useful products I own are wax wizard reccomendations. Some are not, but I like to troll the web and order from a variety of people.

Anyway thats my opinion backed up by my experiences to date.

"Actually they do sell P21S - its in their 'Catalogue' list."

My mistake. They should discuss the product in their "observations"...

I think its cool we have Australians here. I drank beers with a bunch of Aussies in a Brit pub in Tokyo one evening and had a blast. What a friendly people. I have to make my way to Sydney one day soon.

I'm afraid my drinking skills were no match for these new friends, however.

"My mistake. They should discuss the product in their "observations"..."

Fair enough comment, but perhaps a little background will help. We have found that there is a large number of people that are happy to use the website but not place orders. To stay in business we need to make a profit.

We now focus on the Wax Wizard tips which are up to date. These are only available to customers. We want to go the extra yard for customers, not visitors to the website. Happy to give some information on the website, but we go the extra yard for customers.

It would be interesting to find out what WW charges for P21 S products and australia wide postage compared to my stockists, concourse car care aka aggroup australia which has the cheapest postage charges I've ever seen and world class microfibre.

Had a look on the tips section and some of those listed are obsolete or I simply disagree with them. They go against some of David B's methods and tips in the detailing guide.

Wheel arch high pressure - keep the pressure gun moving, no problem, follow with RD black or similar and you won't be able to strip the protective coating off after that. I've done wheel arches with over 4,000 psi and not a problem. My main sprayer is 2,000. That's adequate.

Oh by the way, Chamois and sponges are a thing of the past.

Great to see more Aussies here though, we're rare.

Down Cato!

So you prefer one supplier over another...that's ok...we can all disagree...but what's with the hostility ("Waxwizard is rubbish"..."Mother's is retail grade"?) :nono

Sharing our experiences and encouraging better carcare is what this forum is about. That's what these guys are obviously doing (even if you believe they are "rubbish"). They are Autopians (Aussie ones at that!) and have satisfied customers (CostaK) defending them...show some respect, even if you think they don't meet your expectations. Is that not reasonable?:xyxthumbs

The tips which Wax Wizard gives are proven and can be repeated by our customers. If we differ from David B, then that does not make us wrong, there are often several ways to do the job. We are recognised experts in what we do.

Our postage charges have no marks ups - we charge what Australia Post does. As you know, since you live in Australia, the rates vary depending on distance.

I have have stated why the site is not up up to date and why it will remain that way. Our Tips are the main source of the advice we give, not the website.

You are entitled to your opinon, but I am happy to debate with you any time the finer points of detailing. Perhaps you can let me know where is your website? Your Tips? Your proven expertise? Your detailing business?
