Product Review: Diamondite Crystal Gloss (Surface Protectant)
Product Description (from Manufacturer):
“Diamondite Crystal Gloss™ Surface Protectant restores the shine and amps up the protection on automotive surfaces cleaned with Diamondite Bug Eraser™ Waterless Bug Remover. Diamondite Crystal Gloss™ Surface Protectant creates a protective, clear coating that has the shine and slickness of a quality wax, yet the convenience of a spray protectant.”
Initial Product Observations:
1. Manufacturer: Diamondite / Palm Beach Motoring
2. Made in: U.S.A.
3. Packaging: 16 oz. white plastic bottle with an adjustable fine mist sprayer
4. Color: Soft Creamy Purple
5. Scent: Grape
6. Consistency: Thin Liquid
7. Price: $16.99 for 16oz.
8. Directions:
- For the best results, apply to a cool surface.
After cleaning the affected area with Diamondite Bug Eraser ™ Waterless Bug Remover, spray on Diamondite Crystal Gloss™ Surface Protectant. Use a folded microfiber towel to spread the sealant over the treated area. Then flip the towel and buff to a shine.
Application:
- Approx. 6:00 pm in the evening
- Washed and dried the car
- I adjusted the nozzle on the sprayer for a very fine atomized mist.
- Lightly misted the hood, front bumper, and mirrors
- Buffed off using a plush microfiber towel
Notes & Observations:
- The Grape smell is very nice.
- I liked having an adjustable spray nozzle. Some of the newer on/off don’t seem to always allow for the best product atomization.
- It was easy to spray a fine mist onto the area and buff off.
- It left a nice gloss with a slick feel.
- I am not posting pics at this time as the gloss level didn’t show as well on the camera as it did in person.
- I have had it on one car for about a week now and it seems to be holding up well. I have very few bugs sticking to the front end of the vehicle.
Final Thoughts:
Overall Diamondite Crystal Gloss was joy to apply. It went on very easy with a great scent. It buffed off without any streaking leaving a nice re-invigorated shine. There was also a noticeable slickness that was left when compared to other body panels. For the cost difference I think I would pick to stick with something like Opti-Seal or DG Aqua Wax in place of DCG as Opti-Seal is dedicated sealant that will protect better in my opinion, and I use DG AW in door Jambs and wheels after maintenance washes as a top up and I can buy it by the gallon.
