Product Review: CarPro CQuartz Fabric & Leather Coat

Introduction:
I recently got a replacement pair of work boots and didn’t like how the Scotchgard held up on the old pair so I decided to try something out that I could use on vehicles as well. Originally I spent $10 on a can of Scotchgard that I was only able to get one application out of. So spending $21.99 (100ml) to try this stuff out was easily justified, not to mention the free shipping no minimum promo that just so happened to be running at the time.

Product Description / Claims:
Cquartz Fabric & Leather protection is nano-technology based and is an extremely durable Super HydroPhobic product for fabric, vinyl, and leather protecting against UV degradation, sweat, salt, water, liquids, dirt, bacteria, and stains. Fabric & Leather Coat does all this without affecting the breath-ability of the material. Traditional products make fabrics feel stiff and clog the weave of the fabric, preventing breath-ability. They are unable to stand up to tough cleaners and less resistant to wear. Using nanotechnology, our treatment is small enough to attach to individual fibers, delivering superior performance characteristics without compromising the look, feel, or comfort of the fabric and without clogging the fabric weave.
Cquartz Fabric & Leather transforms the substrate into a super hydrophobic surface that is both durable, flexible, and long lasting against harsh or caustic detergents.

Areas Of Application:

  • Fabric and leather seats
  • Headliners
  • Fabric Wheel wells

  • Protects leather from surface wear, dirt, and stains.

Pros:
  • Ease of application
  • Great atomization from sprayer
  • Product works well so far

    Cons:
  • Strong chemical smell, all similar products have a chemical smell but just something to be cognizant of especially while applying to an interior
  • Confusing safety on the sprayer

    Questions:
1. Product durability?

Final Thought / Summary:
Only time will tell how well the product holds up. So far I am extremely happy with the hydrophobic properties, which far surpass Scotchgard. I think I may have found a more durable, economical and versatile product.

That is awesome! I need to get some for my car. So many good products so little time.

looks like it works very well. did the water repel just as well on the cloth sides of the boots too? did it darken the boots any upon application?

Loved the video of it on your shoe, I like the coating very much.

Cannot believe I missed this one on first go-around. Excellent review!

Amazing review. Very thorough and well put together...:rockon:rockon

Thanks everybody, after finally getting the bottled figured out I enjoyed doing the review.

It was hard to capture in the video but I sprayed the entire boot and it all repels water the same. Not sure how long it will last on the rubber portion of the sole though. Also, there was no discoloration at all. In fact, with the way it repels dirt and water the boots stay their true shade for longer instead of darkening with time.

Any updates on durability.

I use this on leather. One thing I noticed, it seems to hold up well. It adds a bit of gloss to the seat. However, the gloss seems to wear off high traffic areas, but the hydrophobic properties remain.

It's quite easy to use and spreads forever. I found using a sponge is no good. Use some type of MF to spread it. When you first apply it, the leather feels a bit sticky for a while.

But, this is the only product I've used that leaves any evidence that its protecting the seat past a few days.
