As the title states, as of late my Jetta has taken to smelling foul, I am about to replace the interior cabin filter and I have seen some thread about sprays and such you can use, just wondering if anyone had a good one they could recommend.

Thanks, J

I've done OK with the Wurth brand spray.

IME it pays to use a LOT of it, remember that you want to kill the smelly stuff, not just perfume the ductwork. And then run your A/C (even in cold weather) frequently to keep things dehumidified in there.

If it smells something like mildew, I've used a large aerosol spray can of Lysol. Turn the a/c on with the fan on high and spray lots of it into the air intake just outside of the windshield. Spray along the whole width of it. Should take care of it.

Yeah, but IMO the Wurth stuff smells a lot better than Lysol :D Heh heh, I guess it *should* since it costs so much more!

But yeah, I bet it's the same sort of anti-microbial/etc. idea. Did you use the whole can of Lysol?

1Z makes some stuff that comes in a spray can and has a hose you stick in all of the vents and the outside vent. Seems to work pretty good.
