Process wins every time!

Process over products.
Just got a 2001 Honda Accord, EX-V6 for my 18 yo. Although the car was very well cared for, it lacked the "detail" we all love so well. Sooooo, me and the new owner got acquainted with good 4* wash, clay, PC with Menzra Intensive Polish, AIO, and 4*UPP. Interior was just as easy and just as WOW - Prestone carpet cleaner, 4* leather cleaner, 4* leather conditioner, 303. I just coached and directed; a spanking newbie with absolutely zero experience, did all the work. WOW!! Now he's hooked! He's been bitten by the bug and can't wait until the next wash!

Yep, he did a GREAT job and never complained throughout the entire process (and we all know how the process can be frustrating when the ride's been neglected for 4 years).

Now, if I can just keep up his enthusiasm long enough to get him to help with the Toyota Sequoia and the Odyssey van and the Corolla!

But, once bitten, there's no turning back!!
 
boy, you have a great process.!! it has to be great to work with a son. couple that together with the great outcome has to be very satisfing.

keep up the good work on the vehicle. looks like your work on your son is about complete. be glad in your accomplishment.
 
yes the symtoms do seem correct. u will notice once the infection gets worse that he'll wanna burn that picture of him leaning against his newly detailed vehicle for fear that simply looking at it would marr the finsh...


j/k. i dont know.. felt like saying something dumb....

i love it more to see older cars in awesome cond. than i do to see new cars... i assumed he earned that car...
 
great job. must be nice to get some help. i dont have any children, but ive been trying to teach the dog how to use a sponge. it just isnt working though.
 
Yep he earned it and he is paying me back - along with being an Eagle Scout, lead role in the high school musical, and the kinda kid every Dad wants for a Son, what more could a Dad want (am I bragging yet)? Oh yeah, he has to KEEP it clean.

He's already starting to notice some "dust" or "imperfections" and seems to have developed "the twitch" spot wiping and rubbing - hard now to walk by without turning his head and admiring.

The "lean" is probably not a good thing - oops! We did discuss no rings, no jackets with zippers, no blue jeans and/or riveted pants, no metal to metal contact, etc., but I forgot "the lean".....MY BAD! When he sees the thread he'll let me know about the "bad advice", but now we both have a reminder.

Now, back to motivating him to help with the Sequoia, Van, Corolla, Subaru.... Maybe he'll want to start "detailing" his room?
