ok...another quick Q for all you autopians...in my sat detail, i'd like to use this process....wash, clay, polish (menzerna 106ff), sealant (DP Sealant), then wax the next day with liquid souverain...my q is, is it worth it to wax after the sealant cures, or is it an unnecessary step?

It's not an unnecessary step because it adds visual appeal (and more protection) You can sort of look at it this way. If your mindset is to add protection to the car, sealant only is fine, but if you want protection AND looks, follow up with a wax.

Another way to look at it is you would detail your car to make it look good (in effect protecting it), so why not go the extra step and wax it after?

It's purely a judgment call. Some people will argue that sealants have a sterile or plastic look to them and thus topping with a wax will add depth and wettness. Personally, I always put a wax over my vehicles.

:2thumbs:

cool...do i need to wash the car again after polish prior to sealing, or after sealing prior to wax? or is the wash not needed

some people wash after polishing because some polishes produce dusting. If your polishes dust, washing would be a good option, if they don't, then..well you know the answer :)

cool...i know the menzerna has some dusting, but i should be ok either way...i'll def leave enough time for an extra wash if needed...

You can do an another wash or even do a IPA rub down. Personally, I like the IPA rub down because I can use it on my trim to clean it before applying a fresh coat of protection and dressing.
