Problems with Highline Meter II

I just got my Highline Meter II in the mail and tried to use it on my car. Readings seem to work, they change with repainted surfaces higher levels than the repainted ones...

However, Im detailing a vette right now and it is not giving me a reading at all. It shows --- on the screen but when i use it on my car it works fine.

Whats the deal?? I know about surfaces changing and all that but i got the one that changes from f to nf just for this reason.

Fiberglass is neither a ferrous metal, or a non ferrous metal. It is fiberglass. The Defelsko PosiTestor 200 would work for this, but it's slightly more expensive than a Highline.

It says it reads on ferrous or non ferrous surfaces... So this still doesn't work on fiberglass???
Try it on plastic bumpers..it won't work. It works on aluminum and steel bases.

Interesting..... only reason I know it isn't magnetic is that I have an induction cooktop and doesn't heat as does SS and iron based cookware.
